MOST(R) Netzwerk erneut im neuen Mercedes SLK und Mercedes CLS Karlsruhe, 14. März 2011 - SMSC (NASDAQ: SMSC), ein führendes Halbleiterunternehmen, welches hochwertige Netzwerklösungen anbietet, gibt bekannt, dass die Netzwerktechnologie Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST(R)), der Standard für Infotainment-Netzwerke mit hoher Bandbreite in Fahrzeugen, im neuen Mercedes CLS sowie im neuen Mercedes SLK erneut als Backbone des Infotainmentsystems eingesetzt wird. MOST ist der Standardbus für Infotainment über fast alle Mercedes-Benz-Baureihen hinweg. Weltweit wurden bisher mehr als 100 Fahrzeugmodelle mit MOST Technologie ausgestattet.

Die Multimedia Netzwerk-Technologie MOST ermöglicht anspruchsvolles Infotainment im Fahrzeug durch Vernetzung aller im Fahrzeug verteilten Multimedia-Komponenten. Beispielsweise können CD-oder DVD-Wechsler, Radio, GPS-Navigation, Mobiltelefon und digitale Media-Interfaces Signale in dieses effiziente Ringnetzwerk einspeisen. Die Daten werden digital störungsfrei an beispielsweise Sound-Verstärker und Monitore weitergeleitet.
